Paradigme théâtral et pensée philosophique: Shakespeare aux origines de la modernité anglaise

fr Cet article cherche à montrer comment on peut voir dans le théâtre de Shakespeare un des lieux de formation de la conception moderne de la vérité, faisant suite à la crise sceptique du second humanisme. Si Shakespeare semble critiquer la philosophie de son temps en raison de sa conception de la vérité comme opposée à toute forme d’apparence, ses pièces témoignent d’une pratique de la pensée juste qui la situe à la confluence de différentes déterminations, par le biais d’une expérience de la mise en scène, plutôt que dans l’opposition à ce qui paraît ne pas être rationnel. Le théâtre shakespearien permet ainsi d’envisager les conditions de la pensée véridique dans la rencontre entre l’élaboration philosophique et la pratique théâtrale.

en This paper attempts to show that one can see in Shakespeare’s theatre the ground for the conceptualisation of a modern definition of truth, after the sceptic crisis of the second humanism. If Shakespeare seems to criticise the philosophy of his time due to its conception of truth as an opposition to appearances, his plays show an experimentation of true thought that places it at the confluence of different determinations, through the experience of staging, rather than in the opposition to what does not seem to be rational. Shakespeare's theater enables therefore to consider the conditions of true thinking thanks to the meeting of philosophical elaboration and theatrical practice.
